response to bobby jablonski's work

all the images had a strong sense of being casual, un-posed and candid. the images that included your dog, whiskey, showed the relationship between you and him. the photographs of you in the basement with the inclusion of the stairs leading to the dog were successfully complex in lighting and the division of two separate spaces. the shower pictures were very interesting. your tan lines expand on your experiences over the summer that you spent in north carolina as a worker in a surf shop. the pale skin of wisconsin compared to the strong tan built up from being in the atlantic ocean nearly every day. both areas exhibit quiet moments, which are in tune with your project proposal. i would like to see the photos you talked about taking in the future of your pre-work cartwheels. also, i am excited to see how you photograph yourself in public spaces at work and outdoors.

below are the images of bobby's work in-progress:

assignment 1 proposal

for my first assignment, i will be photographing my friend kendra. she is very eccentric and a nightlife enthusiast. she now lives in a hotel and is preparing to say farwell to her friends and family, as she plans to leave united states to move to japan to kickstart her music career. i hope to capture the intimate moments of her emotional preparations and her final exploits before her departure from the city. the photographs will take place in her hotel as it serves as her transitional location. i plan on photographing digitally and use color to enhance my images to evoke a more intimate feel. the final output will be be five to ten images at roughly five by seven inches.
